Certificate IV in Frontline Management (BSB40807)
This course gives students a nationally recognised qualification tailored to individuals who take the first line of management in a wide range of organisational and industry contexts. They may have existing qualifications and technical skills in any given vocation or profession, yet require skills or recognition in supervisory functions. Typically they would report to a manager.
At this level frontline managers provide leadership and guidance to others and take responsibility for the effective functioning and performance of the team and its work outcomes.

How is the course delivered? >
This course is available as a 24 month traineeship only. It is available as a traineeship to both eligible new and existing workers. It can be delivered to individuals or groups through a range of models including flexible work based, facilitated learning or via correspondence.
Prerequisites>
There are no prerequisites however it is recommended to individuals who are in middle or upper management positions and have proven performance outcomes for a management team.
Course requirements>
- 10 units of competency are required to complete this qualification.
- 4 units are compulsory and at least 3 of the 6 elective units must be chosen from the specified list of electives.
Elective units are chosen from the unit selections in line with the actual tasks being performed in the workplace and in accordance with the needs of the individual, group or workplace.
Assessment>
Assessment is based on competency, that is the ability to demonstrate specific skills, and is undertaken through a combination of observation, discussion, written assignments, tests, and/or practical application and work related projects. On-the-job-assessment may be either undertaken in the workplace, or in a simulated workplace environment.
